Watcon Projects is an LBP licensed residential builder based in Pahurehure, working across Drury as it becomes one of Auckland's fastest growing corridors - new builds, renovations, extensions, kitchens, bathrooms, decks, fencing and building maintenance, as part of our wider coverage across South Auckland.
Watcon Projects covers new builds, renovations and extensions, kitchens and bathrooms, decks, fencing and general building maintenance, all carried out personally by Cole Watson, who's spent ten years in the trade. Drury sits close enough to Pahurehure that getting on site quickly isn't an issue, whether that's a new standalone home on a freshly subdivided section or a renovation or repair on a property that's been standing for decades.
Bordered by Papakura, Karaka and Ardmore, and by the rural land around Ramarama and Bombay, Drury is shifting fast from a small service village at the foot of the Bombay Hills into one of the most significant growth areas anywhere in Auckland. For Watcon Projects that means two very different kinds of jobs turning up in the same area at the same time - a new build on a section that didn't exist five years ago, and work on a home that was already there long before any of the current development started.
Drury is growing in several directions at once, and each part of it brings a different kind of enquiry. This is what we're usually asked to quote on, area by area.
New sections on the western side of the rail line. Enquiries here are mostly new builds, plus decks and fencing once the house is finished.
Homes close to the interchange. Mostly renovations, extensions and maintenance on properties that were here before the retail went in.
Rural and lifestyle blocks to the south. Fencing, retaining walls, sheds and outdoor living are the common jobs.
Established streets on the northern edge, close to Papakura. Kitchen and bathroom renovations, repairs and decks on older homes.
Whichever part of Drury the job is in, Cole Watson quotes and builds it personally. Start with a new home on a fresh section, or a renovation, extension or repair on an established property.
Drury and Paerātā stations opened on 2 August 2026, and the SH1 Papakura to Drury upgrade is rebuilding the interchange. Getting in and out of Drury is getting easier.
For homeowners on Drury's older streets, near the village centre or out toward Ramarama and Bombay, the property is now a lot closer to the rest of Auckland without the home itself changing. That is why renovation, extension and repair work on established Drury properties is picking up alongside the new builds.
Both. A lot of the attention on Drury right now is on the new subdivisions, but there are plenty of older properties around the original village and out toward Ramarama and Bombay that need renovation, extension or repair work, and that's just as much a part of what we do in the area.
Drury sits inside the Drury-Opāheke Structure Plan, a roughly 1,900-hectare area being developed in several separate precincts, including a new town centre at Drury West, a retail and civic centre near the interchange, and an industrial precinct at Drury South Crossing. Watcon Projects isn't part of any of those large-scale precincts. We work on individual homes and sections in and around them.
Not directly. Those are Auckland Transport and Waka Kotahi projects along the rail corridor and the motorway. If your renovation or extension needs a building consent, that follows the standard council process regardless of what's happening at the station or on SH1 nearby.
Yes. Drury was founded in 1855 and the older streets around the original village and out toward Ramarama and Bombay have homes considerably older than the current growth suggests. Renovations, extensions and repairs on these properties are a regular part of our work in the area.
Yes. Cole Watson holds a current LBP licence, and all restricted building work on Drury jobs is carried out and signed off correctly.
